Frost glass in porch door our inside front door?

Getting a replacement front porch door which at the moment is full length clear glass

The inside original 100 year old door was the original front door and has coloured bubbly glass at the top and wood at the bottom.

We are going to take out the bottom wood panels and put in glass to let more light into very dark hall.

Would you frost the front porch door or the inner glazing or both?

I think one at least needs to be otherwise there's a direct view in to the house. We tend to keep the inner door closed due to puppy and then can leave porch unlocked for deliveries.

I’d not touch the original 100 year old front door and create some privacy with the new door.

That's a valid point.

If the new porch door fits and isn't rotten it might not let the wind in so we wouldn't need both closed.

But...I quite like opening the orginal front door and seeing who has rung the bell - rather than having to open the door to see who it is.

Frosted porch with non frosted section so you can easily see out if you open the original door? I think I mean sandblasted when I say frosted though. Some people have their house number in a non frosted section.

I’d keep the original too. You need some privacy.
But if you like to see who’s at the door, could you leave the original door open in the day? That’s what I do and then only lock the internal door (not really needed but gives me extra piece of mind) at night?
