Would you buy a property that was last sold only a year ago?

Seen a house on Rightmove which ticks a lot of boxes, but on checking Market data it only sold last year. There is a new bathroom but the rest of the house doesn’t look recently renovated, so don’t think it’s a developer situation.
It is the second property I’ve liked that is back to market so soon. It makes me wary, I’m thinking bad neighbours, but doesn’t that have to be disclosed?
Also the asking price is 16k higher than what they paid last year!

Email the estate agents about it. Phone calls can't be confirmed if something goes wrong.

Make sure you have a good solicitor.

The asking price will be higher on expectation of accepting an offer around the region of its previous sale price I expect (most people don't realistically expect to achieve asking price).

Could be selling for any number of reasons, some not great, some which would not have any bearing on you purchasing the house.

I'd ask the EA why. My partner had his flat on the market a year after buying. He'd met me just after buying and we were expecting DS, but couldn't live in the flat as it was too far from my older son's school and family. There's all sorts of reasons (job changes, family issues, etc...) that can make for a fast turnaround :)

OP, a few years ago we bought a house anticipating that we'd be there for at least a decade and probably longer. We had the bathroom done did work to the roof and had a new boiler.

Then my partner lost her job and her mum was diagnosed with cancer and we felt we had to move closer. The house went up for sale two weeks short of a year after we'd bought it and as we'd spent £15,000 on it (with receipts) we put it on the market for £15,000 more than we'd paid for it.

Ask why the previous owner is moving.
