Pull out taps with coils; difficult to clean?

I’m thinking of getting a kitchen tap with a pull out bit which is supported by a steel coil at the top. My only worry is cleaning, is it a nightmare to keep the coil clean?

I looked at some coil taps and interested too as we get a LOT of lime scale in our area

I can’t tell you if they are difficult to clean, but I can tell you that we were persuaded to have one in our new kitchen and I haven’t used it in 3 years.

I use mine a lot! Not difficult to clean, I use any limescale spray and a dish washing brush about once a month and mine has stayed like new. Mind it has only been in around nine months Grin

Had one in last house - took a year to realise it pulled out (we bought a returned kitchen so didn't goose it)! Would love one in current house and vaguely remember just spraying it with kitchen cleaner sometimes.

*choose it!

You can get loads of pull out taps that are much more streamlined and you don't have to worry about trying to clean in between all the coils. We have a pull out bit on the quooker and its brilliant for swishing clean water to rinse the sink. The hose just slides back in and there is a small piece that goes to the back of the spout in a notch. I've seen similar not on a quooker.

Thanks everyone. It is to replace a broken tap on the worktop which has a really wide base, so we are quite limited as we need a base big enough to cover the existing hole. It is quite a big sink, hard to clean into all the corners with a normal tap, hence wanting to try a pull out tap. The only once I've seen has the coils. Sounds like it is worth giving it a go.
