Opinions needed on kitchen design please?!

Hi
We have almost finalised our new kitchen design, it’s taken years for us to save up so we want it to be right. Husband fine with it, it’s me who is perhaps over analysing!
It’s going to be an l-shaped kitchen with a peninsular thingy and it will be open plan to dining room.
First image has tall units in the corner, so as to not block out any light. The tall units are an integrated fridge freezer and a larder.
I was worried the integrated f/f wouldn’t give us enough freezer space (we are a family of 4, one teenager and one a few years younger) so the second image shows an American f/f (we won’t have room for this as there’s not enough wall space to have that plus the larder - 1.25m - so it will be freestanding).
Will it look odd having a non-American style f/f instead? I’ve never seen this style boxed in before so not sure how it would look.
I have analysed this for so long I just cannot decide what would be best!
Would you:

  • keep 1st design but buy separate under counter small freezer (not that keen on this as it’s just taking up more space and using up electricity)
  • keep 2nd design as is
  • keep 2nd design but have American f/f and move larder to left hand side of kitchen (next to units to left of cooker) - think this will block light out from window at sink though? Before units next to cooker there is about 1m space then double glazed doors so there is room but it means as you enter the room you’ve got a tall unit (we were going to have shelves above the base units to keep it open
  • do something else
We have an American f/f just now but it needs replacing. We love the space inside it, maybe it’s a bit too roomy but kids still growing... If you’re still reading, thank you!! Any ideas/tips welcome 😊

I went through a similar thought process in the end I decided against a free standing fridge freezer as even a non American one was too overpowering for my kitchen. I went for a full size integrated larder fridge and an integrated under the counter freezer. I've never regretted it.

To add the electricity cost for my freezer is tiny.

Do you have a garage/utility/shed where you could put another freezer?

I also have an American fridge freezer and we are planning new kitchen and we are going for a full height fridge and we are planning On building a utility room which will house the the freezer.

But whilst I have a full freezer we don't use it tons. Mainly to freeze batch cooking and freeze meat when on offer so I don't use it on a day to day and world rather have a massive fridge for fresh food (5 of us)

Thanks so much for replying 😊
We have a garage conversion which is used as a games room (sofa and tv) come utility room (houses the tumble dryer).
Happydaysforever123 thanks, that is good to know. That sounds like a better option. Our kitchen is a medium size but we are taking a wall down so will lose out on wall space for the fridge freezer and I am fine with a sleek looking American f/f or a cool statement one being on display, just not a bog standard freestanding one as think it will emphasise the lack of space in the kitchen too, as well as maybe not look so good? We would really like to keep the larder... with an integrated f/f we could go back to having a wider larder. Just need to work out where we could put the under counter freezer!!

have you looked at the more slimline American FFs? You can get some as slim as 60-70cm so don't have to get a 90cm.
