Fence paint

I'm so undecided! I've just painted my shed using Cuprinol Shades in Country Cream with the frames and door in Willow which is a pale green. Now I can't decide what colour to do the fence.

I've got Forest Oak Cuprinol but I'm thinking that'll be way too dark now as the plants look gorgeous against the lighter background.

My garden is a medium size with lots of container pots and a nice patio so want it to look smart but also not naff in a few years.

What colour is yours?

What colour is patio op? Light or dark coloured? Also how did you find the paint for your shed? I'm looking to get some in that colour myself but hope the paint is good and won't take too many coats!

I've just painted my fences Willow, and the shed and garden gate are Wild Thyme which is a shade darker then the Willow.

My patio is just normal slabs so a dark cream colour.

I got the shed paint from B&Q. Only had to queue about 15 minutes.

@Clutterbugsmum do you have photos please? I'm thinking similar might look good but I have over 20 panels to do so don't want it to look too much and just can't envisage it!

@Starlive23 It took 3 coats as it was covering a dark brown but it seems like nice paint, went on easily enough if a little thin.

We have forest oak and I think the dark colour looks nice.

That looks lovely @bookgirl1982. I currently have about 3 shades of old brown, a very weathered section and some brand new fence that all needs doing so I just can't imagine how it would look!

It takes a couple of coats, this could do with another really. This was a combo of plain wood, orange cheap fence and already painted reddish fence (thanks to high winds and mix of neighbours doing repairs).

I hope this works

Ya I figured how to add a picture Grin

My sister on the other hand have painted her fence black and that looks good. As the plants look fantastic against it and the fence sort of disappears.

I cannot for love or bloody money get hold of fence paint. Spent many an hour last few weeks cursing retailers who wait until I'm literally about to pay on a website to inform me my choices are out of stock. Or, suggest I drive 60 miles to the closest store that will actually do click and collect Confused

You show off buggers with your paint, grrrrrrr!

Clutter oooh looks lovely. Garden porn!

Buffthemagic · 02/06/2020 16:53

@Clutterbugsmum looks gorgeous!

Well I'm really torn now, have been looking at black fences and they look fantastic. I might paint a small section with the forest oak I have and see what it looks like before buying more Blush

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz Have you tried wood finishes direct? They had some of the Cuprinol Garden Shades in stock

Thanks, just checked as haven't heard of them. Although the colours I want aren't in stock it does at least indicate that straight away and gives an idea of when they are expecting some in. So no time wasted fannying around so that a plus.

Thanks OP, I'll bear them in mind.

Starlive23 · 02/06/2020 17:49

@clutterbugsmum that looks fab!
