Enclosed coat storage (in home office)

Considering turning our dining room into a home office. At the moment we have a coat stand but if I’m spending more time in the room it will drive me mad looking at the messy coats! Has anyone got any good ideas for enclosed storage (so something I can hide everything away) that doesn’t look like a normal wardrobe has been plonked in the room?! Struggling to find inspiration online! Thanks :)

Free standing or inbuilt?
IKEA might give you some inspiration.

Probably depends how ‘officey’ you want it to be. I’ve got an Ikea Pax wardrobe in my home office - it’s got shiny white sliding doors so it looks more like office furniture than bedroom furniture. Half of it is drawers and shelves for stationary supplies etc, and the other half is a rail for coats.

Thanks both... I Would consider built in or freestanding. It’s a downstairs room that connects to living room so just don’t want it to look like part bedroom part office.

I've a cloak cupboard that has been built in to the corner with a bi fold wooden door. I also use a wooden blanket storage box for all of the rest of the paraphernalia that seems to end up there.

I'm doing something similar. I'm looking at kitchen wall cupboards with the end panels all round matching the doors to make them look beter. Then fit out inside with hanging areas and then shelves for shoes. Also not going all the way to the floor so I can get the hoover in underneath and have a feel of floor space. Also by using wall cupboards they won't take up as much room as a wardrobe.
