What colour worktop with light grey units

Getting a new kitchen, and have narrowed it down to 2 choices. One is a slab style door in Matt white, the other is a light grey shaker style.
I'm leaning towards the shaker, but having trouble deciding what worktop to go for. I love the look of white but worried about stains. We will have a contrasting breakfast bar, which is currently an ash wood colour.
Does anyone have any ideas, or if you have a light grey kitchen, what colour worktop do you have please?

I’d go for an oak worktop.

We have a white quartz worktop which does stain easily but barkeeper’s friend cream is very good at removing stains.

I've ordered pale grey doors and am having sparkly white quartz worktops.

We have a pale grey shaker cabinet style on our back wall and navy cabinets on the breakfast bar on front of it. We've gone for a pale marble effect quartz on both runs and it looks fab.

Thank you. I absolutely love the white look, just was worried about staining but it's good to know the above product will remove them.
Will also have a look at a pale large effect too. As we are having the wooden breakfast bar, I didn't want to have too much going on with the worktop. Would like to keep them pale

Cool toned oak effect laminate would be my suggestion.

My mum has a pure white worktop, I forget the material, one of the expensive hard ones but it's not shiny and doesn't have a speckle, it's like a white Matt stone looks lovely with the shark edge whatever it's called, she has glass cutting boards all over it though in fear of stains!

I was in a show home recently (well as recently as pre lockdown was....) and they had oak parquet flooring, grey gloss cabinets, brown speckled quartz/granite worktop, it was lovely as it was a mix of modern and traditional and it felt very homely.

Hopefully this picture uploads, as this is the look I'm referring to when the breakfast bar is a contrast to the worktop

We've inherited a white worktop.....bane of my life. That is all.

It's so difficult to choose. I can't afford to make a mistake with it

We when with the white quartz with the glass sparkly speckly bit it’s been better with stains than I ever thought it would

We are having matt white slab units and Cambria Levven worktop. Oak LVT in straight planks and white matt tiles on the walls. Decided to save money by not having frosted glass. The work top should be dramatic and shiny but with everything else matt and subdued.

We have duropral laminate in Ponderosa Pine (white quartz out of price range!). Really pleased with it. Looks a bit like this (not my kitchen but same cupboards)

I have Corian white onyx. I love it. It was significantly more than I was intending to spend, but every day I appreciate it. It seems completely stain proof.

I had white Corian in a previous kitchen and loved it. It doesn't stain - a quick wipe with Flash bleach and as good as new. I even had the sinks moulded out of it, which I much preferred to my current (inherited from previous owner) granite worktop/stainless steel sinks arrangement.
