Range cooker selection

Help please!
I'm looking at a range cooker for the new kitchen and considering these

ao.com/product/syd4110-smeg-symphony-dual-fuel-range-cooker-stainless-steel-71442-16.aspx (also has £100 off)

I'd written off the Stoves one until the last second when I saw cavity 4 is a slow cooker... They're all good and frankly any would be suitable but does anyone have any great insight??

When I was looking the Smeg ones had bad reviews and felt flimsy in the showrooms. The Rangemasters were very nice but out of our budget (we wanted induction). Ended up choosing a Belling with £150 cashback and so far so good.

Another vote for Belling. We've had ours 13 years and still going strong. I particularly chose this model as it has a lid.... I'd be forever cleaning in between the hob rings (even without any cooking) it if it didn't!

I loved my Belling. Superb value for money and will be buying another one as soon as we’ve extended our new kitchen. If you can stretch to the 1200 version with seven rings as looks really impressive and drew lots of admiring remarks despite the fact it was cheaper than many of the “average sized” rivals...

Loofah01 · 28/05/2020 18:28

Must admit I skipped the Beliings but I'll revisit

Just seen you were actually looking at 7 ring versions 🙈. Years back when we got ours Belling were the only large version under about 4K I think...the others do look nice. My mum has a Sotves cooker that seems to have lasted forever and you can’t go wrong with Smeg and the Rangemaster looks the most pleasing IMO - you might have caused a quandary for me now I know all these other options are out there!

I loved my Rangemaster Elan - build quality was 👌. Left it behind as part of house sale 😭

Itoldyouiwasill · 29/05/2020 06:18

I've got the Rangemaster Professional Plus and am very pleased with it

BubblesBuddy · 29/05/2020 08:12

I can no longer see the benefit of having ovens at below work top level. So I would have two built in ovens at a higher level as they are so much easier to use. More expensive probably but you get different features on each.

VictoriaBun · 29/05/2020 08:20

I haven't got the Rangemaster professional , but if you lived near me I'd happily give you my one.
Our Rangemaster is a dual fuel one and the gas oven ( larger of the 2 ovens ) is always getting a fault. It is the temperature gauge that keeps stopping and has been replaced a few times, in fact we've given up on it now and are managing with the smaller electric oven .
Can't wait until we get a new kitchen and get rid tbh.

Toomanycats99 · 29/05/2020 08:28

I've just had the 100cm professional deluxe installed in my kitchen couple of months ago.

Love it to cook with. Only issues is one of the screws in the door keeps loosening so I need to get onto rangemaster about it.

PaquitaVariation · 29/05/2020 08:33

We’ve had a stoves one, similar to the one you linked to, for the last 12 years. Not a thing gone wrong with it.

PhoneLock · 29/05/2020 08:34

How about an AGA Six Four? They are very solid and also have a low temperature oven.

TimeWastingButFun · 29/05/2020 08:35

We ordered a Rangemaster Professional Induction too, before the lockdown and were told it wouldn't come till August, so we reluctantly ordered a Belling induction range instead and honestly I love it! I would recommend it, and we saved well over £1000 too.

Loofah01 · 29/05/2020 10:02

Have to be honest I'm now a bit shaky on the rnagemaster as few people have mentioned issues (more people haven't of course), the Smeg has fallen from the running and I only hear good things about Stoves products... Still looking at Belling too

My Stoves is 8 years old and going strong, it's gas hob and gas ovens. I would have preferred gas hob and electric ovens but nevertheless been very happy with it, and love the slow cooker in the bottom.

Loofah01 · 29/05/2020 12:23

Yes, the slow cooker bit is swinging it a bit for me!

Apolloanddaphne · 29/05/2020 12:27

I have a Rangemaster and I love it.

DarkMintChocolate · 29/05/2020 12:30

I have a dual fuel Rangemaster with 1.5 electric ovens, an electric grill and 5 gas rings. Its about 10 years old now and still going strong. I love it! (I hate ceramic hobs, etc)

OP posts:
Thunderpunt · 29/05/2020 14:16

Yep, that Stoves one is the updated version of mine, but even better IMO. Mine has both big ovens at the top, the bottom right is slow cooker, bottom left on mine is a pan/warming drawer. Honestly I love it. One thing - the slow cooker isn't adjustable (on mine anyway) you just turn it on, bung stuff in (I start mine off on hob or in main oven) and leave for the day. I've never had a counter top slow cooker but believe they have a couple of settings, which this doesn't. It's never been a problem for me - I think it's probably impossible to overcook something in a slow cooker....

Thunderpunt · 29/05/2020 14:23

Oh and it came with this griddle/grill,thing which sits on top of the burners

Another vote for Belling!

Chasingsquirrels · 30/05/2020 07:44

I got a Belling 90 cookcentre last summer and I'm sure there is a slow cooker option on the oven.

Runningonemptea · 30/05/2020 07:53

On the belling the bottom right is a slow cooker as well as a plate warmer iirc

roses2 · 30/05/2020 07:55

I've also got a 4 year old Balling 90cm range - not a single regret.
