Its a flat hallway so no stairs. We just have a coat and shoe rack in there and the modem. It has six wooden doors going off it so they will need painting too. Its rented so dont want to spend too much. Any idea on paint colours F&B do one called Borrowed light but the decorator last time complained bitterly about F&B! Any ideas of what to do with a small magnolia hallway with picture rails?

My dark, dingy hallway was magnolia when I first moved in and I’ve had it painted in Dulux Violet White, which has made so much difference and it looks lovely. It is quite “purple” though, but I like purple so I don’t mind.

Im not really a fan of purple i dont think it will go with the rest of the flat.

We used the light and space dulux paint, at great expense in our hallway. I really regret it because it's so reflective it takes on the tinge of anything around it. So we painted one feature wall in the landing teal and the opposite wall has a green look to it. Our carpet it mushroom colour and it makes huge paint on the other walls look almost pink in some lights. I would just go for a bog standard white with nice pictures or mirrors to brighten it up

*sorry for typos not "huge paint", "the paint"

There are lots of mirror wall hanging about that would reflect the light really well without being just a mirror.

Also have a look at the LED strip lights you could stick on the rail. Some are battery operated to give an up light along the rail.

I’ll see if I can find some

We are in a flat in a Victorian conversation. We've gone for Dulux Colour of the year: tranquil dawn

I have a hallway with no windows. It was magnolia when I moved in with dark doors. I painted the doors white and the walls a mid grey, dulux chic shadow. Looks lighter now 😂

Can you tell me where those tiles are from please?

What about dulux oyster cove or blush noisette

wowfudge · 02/06/2020 07:50

I did a reverse search on the picture and the mirrors are $99 for two, but out of stock. I think the pp has posted a photo from Pinterest. You could do something similar with a plain mirror and a fretwork panel painted and stuck onto it. Jali sell panels, radiator covers, etc.

Oh goodness I’m not handy can’t do anything complicated😀 don’t forget I don’t own it. I’m abit nervous of mirrored everywhere as the light does come in from the bathroom

www.dunelm.com/product/pack-of-4-mirrored-tiles-1000056606?defaultSkuId=30167198

These are £8 for 4

You can buy spray paint to etch out a pattern

Cut up some shapes and stick to the mirror and give them a light coating - then peel off the shapes

If you did 8 tiles and had them above the rail they would reflect without being in the way

We used Dulux light and space in Jasmine shimmer in our flat hallway. It's a very pale pink and looks great with our wooden floors, grey lampshade and grey shoe cupboard.

GreyishDays · 02/06/2020 14:18

I think a soft, warm mid blue would be nice. Like this.
Have you tried the Dulux visualiser app to try some colours out?

Why do t you have a radiator cover made and put a mirror above it like a console table?

EachandEveryone · 02/06/2020 17:47

Babouche by F&B is really tempting me. It’s so expensive though and I can’t find anything that’s totally like it.
