Diy kitchens

I have seen so many recommendations for this company but am a complete novice in this area and don't really understand the process. We are in a budget so want to make cuts where we can. We are in the early stages of planning our kitchen extension, just waiting for planning permission to be granted. With diy kitchens I gather you have to plan the space yourself and send away for what you need. Has anyone used this and can explain what I need to do please?

It's easiest if you have a good idea of the basic layout you want.
DIY kitchens have an online planner where you can build the plan in 3d to fit your room and save loads of versions. It's a good idea to get your builder/fitter to look at it too.

When you have it how you want it, with or without worktops/handles/appliances etc. (which you might source elsewhere), you press complete order and book a delivery slot. Someone from DIY might message you if they think anything in your plan needs checking.

Then the ready built units show up and you're good to go!

It's a good idea to outline plan your kitchen before building, because sometimes small tweaks to the position of windows and doors can make the layout work better, also you can get your lighting, drains etc all in the right place.

Just a note on the planner for DIY kitchens - they require you to submit it for a check by one of their staff which ensures you don;t make any horrific mistakes.
Belfast sinks and freestanding applicances will need end boards but aside from that it's very intuitive. Probably a good idea just to play about and submit then ask lots of questions... then start over and do the 'real' design.
