Separate contractors or one builder?

Not sure how to title this thread. I am in the process of buying a bungalow in need to completely refurb. It’s 2 bedrooms, 70 square metres, detached. I am planning on trying to have it all done prior to moving in. In the long term I would like a kitchen extension but I don’t think I can afford that right now so I plan to renovate as cheaply as possible.

My question is, does it save money to get your own contractors in for each job ie electrician, plumber, plasterer? Or overall is it more cost effective to find a builder who will manage it all but take a cut?

If the former is cheaper then in what order would you go?

I need electrics in every room
Loft insulating and boarding
New bathroom
New kitchen (Ikea)
New boiler
New radiators with pipes replaced to go under floorboards
Plastering
Decorating I will do myself

My thoughts were this order-

Rip out old bathroom and kitchen and fitted wardrobes
Electrics everywhere including kitchen and bathroom
Plumbing- boiler and rads including kitchen
Loft
Sand wooden floor boards
Plastering
Kitchen and bathroom installed together including finishing and tiling
Decorate

It depends whether you know what you're doing from a project management point of view. If you've done this kind of thing before then go for it, but if you haven't, I would definitely recommend getting a project manager or putting the whole job with one contractor. However, bear in mind that you still need to keep on top of it because one thing always leads to another with refurb projects. You will definitely need a contingency fund equal to at least 10% of the anticipate costs.
