About to go on the market!

Question is, are there any buyers out there?

We have a lovely house in a popular location (we’re selling for school catchment reasons, long story). Under normal circumstances I’d expect it to sell pretty quickly, but not sure about now.

I’d be interested to hear how others are faring at this time.

I don’t see why not, it’s a bit like thinking are people still going to want to buy new clothes after not being able to for 3 months :)

I think it depends whether you are in an area that is massively in demand and what types of work people do in the area (I.e. whether or not they are likely to still be on full-pay etc.).

We live in a popular commuter village and two houses have already gone under offer since the market reopened.

I know fruitless viewings can be a pain, but I would never prevent people who are not ready to proceed viewing a house. We viewed a house three years ago, and at the time weren’t on the market ourselves. We called an EA immediately after viewing, were on the market six days later and were under offer a week later. Sometimes, people who are not technically ready to proceed can get go that point very quickly. Our whole chain was actually he’s up by our buyers who were chain-free. They dragged their feet sorting everything out, but had technically be ready to go from the time of viewing.
