Leaking door

Hi my house is 18 months old bought as new build. Big mistake
Anyway front door is leaking and I noticed huge gaps in external sealant round windows and on door frames
The builder has been back and resealed windows said gaps were due to settlement
Got talking to neighbours today and found out at least 3 of us have... leaking front doors
Clearly some wider issue so can I argue for replacement door? Also is it normal to have to have windows resealed?

Well sealant has some degree of flexibility so wouldn't be settlement unless significant. If that was the case you would probably have cracks showing in the walls?

Sounds like they have, as a lot of builders do used cheap products.

Houses built near us, all the fittings are cheaper copies...ie roof lights are not Velux but a cheap and nasty version that looks good but less protection against leaks etc. As you would expect, all about profit and as long as they get past a couple of years they are not bothered.

My friend bought one of those built near us...quality awful. Concrete floors all had bad cracks due to them having used a quick dry compound. Company doing floor coverings said it was that bad they couldn't proceed and needed dealing with!

Sadly think you're right I'm not sure about the quality of the resealing done either
