Microwave and oven not level

Just planning my new kitchen- we would like one double oven in a tall unit, and a single oven and microwave in another tall unit. We cant seen to do this and get the appliances level. Does anyone have any solutions to this?

Don't really have cupboard space for the microwave and I want it off the worktop. Suspect I will have to live with it being not level but hoping someone has managed to resolvs this some how

I'm not sure what you mean by level. Are you saying that top of the double oven and the top of the microwave are not on the same hight? Would a filler or drawer between the single oven and microwave fix this?

Also, have you looked at combination ovens? An oven that is also a microwave. That way you might be able to have all three in one tower.

Thanks for your reply. A picture might help. I have been to 3 different kitchen suppliers and it just seems to be that this is the design of the units and short of a bespoke kitchen there doesn't seem to be a solution

It looks from that picture that oven+microwave is taller then double oven, so they're never going to line up properly. Could you have the 3 next to each other. So they all line up at the bottom, with different height cupboards above?

poorbuthappy · 20/05/2020 15:00

Or if you have the space don't have them next to each other so it's not noticable?

TheTeenageYears · 20/05/2020 15:13

Sorry no suggestions but think that would drive me insane. One thing to consider with the microwave is how easy it is to get things in and out - depends how tall you are but hot & potentially heavy at face or higher height can be dangerous. I know they make the tower units that way but they aren't always terribly practical.

I think the Miele ones all match up have a look on their website.

areallthenamesusedup · 20/05/2020 18:56

Think it would look better if you level the top of the oven/microwave, rather then try and level the bottom.

muddledmidget · 20/05/2020 19:00

When I spoke to the kitchen designer they can put a larger bar in between the 2 smaller appliances so the tops and bottoms match but the middle looks a little different (but that was a kitchen manufacturing company so quite bespoke)

ProperVexed · 20/05/2020 19:05

That looks awful....it would drive me mad!

areallthenamesusedup · 20/05/2020 21:56

I hope you do not mind me saying this, but if any kitchen designer really put this image forward I would question their passion for the project. If they would not be willing to put it as an image on the front page of their website, I would question them. I seriously think they should come up with something better. As pp says, most appliance manufcaturers or kitchen designers can do dummy inserts to level things up.

How about something like in this photo? Or perhaps put your microwave on counter in utility room if you have one.

If you don't put them next to each other it will help.

Rhica · 21/05/2020 12:00

Thanks for all your help. The cabinet on the left is a fridge freezer so couldn't go in there. And the designer originally suggested two double ovens but was restricted by my rather inflexible husband. If worked on him and we've agreed to move it to another place.

Glad I'm not the only one that would have been irratated by this

How many people are you cooking for? Four ovens?!

Sunisshining12 · 21/05/2020 13:30

Have you tried 2 x single ovens rather than a double? To create a ‘quad’ you need 4 appliances all the same brand & same range (it’s difficult to mix & match old & new as the profiles won’t work). Or have 3 appliances (again the same) side by side.

Personally, I think 3 ovens (4 if your microwave is combi) is a lot! Have you considered a coffee machine & microwave then 2 ovens underneath? Or a warning drawer?

Rhica · 21/05/2020 14:13

Husband is a chef and we like to entertain alot. We considered a warming draw but then on a other post someone suggested using an oven to keep plates and food warm which seemed to make sense.

Wasn't much price difference either in double ovens or single ovens

I think you need to sit with the sizes of all the oven/microwave options. Make small scale paper templates and fiddle round with them til you find a configuration you like.

Have a joiner add in a small strip of wood between the items if needed But get the top and bottom sides in line.

wehaveafloater · 21/05/2020 16:43

Try Two single ovens in cabinets side by side with one combi oven above one and one mico combi above the other .
600 + 454 and 600 + 454
You are trying to put an 880 next to a 600+ 454 so that's why it won't work . ( numbers are the heights in mm )
