Kitchen tap

I'm looking at getting a brushed brass pull out kitchen tap. Cheapest I can seem to find are £200 from tap warehouse (just taps VOS) or lusso stone.. That was until I found one on amazon for £99!! Do brands really matter? Or are unbranded on amazon be just as good? As long as it lasts up to 3-5 years I'd be happy :-)

The quality of a tap is VERY important! Not something to scrimp on.

I've seen hundreds of fancy designer taps which admittedly look great but break really quickly and have to be replaced. A quality tap, if it fails, will have spare parts that can be replaced too. Look at Grohe, Bristan, etc taps. Always cheaper on Amazon so good call there - find elsewhere but see if available via amazon

I was going to say the same as Loofah - We replaced our bathroom tap with a Grohe which was quite pricey, and then replaced our kitchen and downstairs toilet taps with dirt cheapo from supermarket and they have not lasted at all, the chrome is wearing off quicker than quick and looks awful on both of them - lesson learnt, now we have to have the bother of replacing both again. and reminds me of the saying buy cheap buy it twice or similar.

If you are just looking for a tap for 3-5 years, it will do fine. The bigger question, is why you think a tap should only last you that short amount of time? A good tap, should last you for a minimum of 15 years, if not longer.

Read the reviews! Surprisingly cheap ones often get "This tap is excellent! Edited one month later to add that it broke" type reviews. I was shopping for one recently, ended up with an old-stock Wickes £200 on sale for half that and it's pretty good. Nothing like yours though - curved brushed steel.

Thank you all.. Problem is I can't find one of these brands in the light brushed brass colour I am after. Can anyone recommend an exact model at all? It doesn't have to be pull out.

If I'm honest I only plan on living in the house for 3-5 years so it will no longer be my problem Halo but if it only lasts 6 months then this will be a problem!

Brass coloured taps (i know most taps are brass under the chrome) are a bit of a trend so probably not worth spending a lot.
