Large Baths

Has anyone got a super big bath? Planning a bathroom reno & like the idea of a big jacuzzi bath.

The space allows for up to 1.2m wide x 2m long maximum. But can’t visualise if this is just ridiculously huge or okay? Have cut out some cardboard but still not helped.

I like having a bath & have 2 toddlers so know it will be used, but unsure on what size to go with.

Never actually had a jacuzzi/jet style either so opinions welcome

We are not in the UK but have a double-size jacuzzi bath. It's 110cm x 160cm and you'd need at least 30cm of water to comfortably cover the jets (otherwise it doesn't work).

That works out at over 500 litres of water which you have to heat and store until needed, or heat from a combi as you fill it. TBH we never use ours, it's painfully slow to fill even with pumped water our water tank is only 300 litres for an 8 bedroom house.

Also it's over 500kg of loading on the floor even before you get in. We have concrete floors so it's not a problem, but if you have a typical UK house with wooden joists it would be worth checking if it will take that much weight.

@HasaDigaEebowai presumably you have an unvented cylinder. You can't pump other systems.

I have a jacuzzi bath with lights as well and I love it and use it every day :) it makes me feel like I'm at a spa and really relaxes me after a hectic day.
It only takes as long to fill as my other baths , about 10 minutes?
I love it. I don't know why everyone on this thread hates them.
I think outdoor hot tubs are really unhygienic and would never use those but they often have several people in together & the water isn't changed every time. Whereas my spa bath is just used by me ....oh and sometimes I let my daughters use it , but only as a very special treat!
Our whole house was refurbished 2 years ago and my bath is the best decision I made.

No idea but I'll take your word for it. We have a cold tank in the loft and a cylinder in the airing cupboard with a furnace and oil boiler downstairs.

We've only recently had the shower pump attached to the hot water taps. Its really made a difference since our hot water was quite slow to come out.

I would get an external sauna
Have my eye on the one with a wood burner here!

We had an infrared one in holiday home in Belgium and dh moaned didn't get hot enough....
I would still go for spacious shower space instead!
