Had this outdoor tap fitted, struggling to know which hose connector to buy so that my hose attaches to my tap?

Can anyone help?

You can have either a push fit hose connector or unscrew the very end bit for a screw thread fitting.

Do you need a connector. Have you tried pushing the hose directly onto the tap. What sort of hose it is.

Wilko do a pack of 4 with a push up one

I’ve got this connector but it leaves a gap that the water seeps out of at the top, it doesn’t push up all the way.

Have you tried screwing off the adapter bit on the tap nozzle? I know that s hozelock screws straight on yo that.

The part connected to the hose should have come with a plastic adaptor just like the brass one one your tap. Just unscrew the brass one and attach the plastic one, then you should be good to go. If you don't have one, you can buy one from most hardware stores. Screwfix do this www.screwfix.com/p/hozelock-threaded-outdoor-tap-connector/52973 if you do

the plastic connector you show looks like one to go on a kitchen tap, so is wrong.

Garden taps are made with a screw on the spout. In your case, the maker's original hose conector is screwed onto it. That is made so you can push the naked end of a garden hose onto the spigot. Soften it with hot water first, and lubricate the spigot with washing up liquid. The spigot is slightly tapered to fit hosepipes of slightly varying diameter.

Or, you can unscrew the spigot, and use a screw-on adaptor. These are sold in kits, often in the Hozelock or Gardenia brands. The brass ones are better than plastic. Aldi, Lidl and hardware shops sell them in the gardening season.

(this type of spigot, with the rubber seal, is screwed permanently onto the tap, and other fittings click onto it. This is very convenient)

looking again, Muchlywrong is probably right, your adaptor needs a click-on fitting, either the plastic or (I prefer) the brass one.
