Looks really good to me,

Like it :) I'd get rid of the sideboard cupboards though and have regular wall units (to left and right of your glazed cupboards) to give more working space, although you probably won;t need it!

Oh I love those. One is a breakfast pantry and the other a bar!! They look lovely in real life

The only thing I would avoid is the ceiling to worktop cupboard by the window, I'd just do ceiling to eye level as it looks a bit odd. Otherwise looks great!

It looks good. It’s reasonably similar to our kitchen, so here’s a couple of thoughts from me having lived with.

We have electric sockets in the island which have proved really useful. We don’t have a useful power socket near the dining table which is frustrating, particularly at the moment with everyone working from home. But even before this we have after had to trail extension cables to the table to power laptops.

We are big tea drinkers and so have a second fridge near the sink for milk (and butter - it’s also near the toaster). Otherwise the distance from fridge to sink to kettle is just a bit too far.

We don’t use the seats at the breakfast bar as we find it odd to sit in one line like that. They are more often used when perhaps one person is eating at a different time to others or when we have guests and are milking around in the kitchen. We also only have four seats in c2.5m island - unless you need 5 it looks crowded to me.

And when you have a lockdown (or any time you feel a bit crazy) it is pretty awesome to be able to walk around and around your kitchen island and dining table and everything in a massive figure of eight. I still find that rather entertaining six years down the line... maybe it’s cabin fever getting to me!

Excellent advice thanks everyone. I think it looks odd the counter top larder which is our breakfast bar due to the angle but I think ok. We do have a wine fridge in the bar near the sink so can always put milk in there. Good shout!
We have young children and they like sitting at the breakfast bar and my husband often joins them (in our precious house) so works well. If we were to eat a meal all together it would be a round the table. I have a huge family so a large is on the must list! It’s 3m so we would either have 4 or 5 seats depending bf on elbow room.

Good not odd. I love the breakfast pantry!

We were advised that each person requires min of 600mm space at BBar so this looks like only space for 4 not 5 .

mumdone · 03/05/2020 11:53

I think the bar is 3m. So the 600m space would work for 5. Our children are young so prob ok for 5. When they grow or when we have adults we can put a chair away or just have 4 seats. It doesn’t matter. 5 isn’t set in stone.

I would personally recommend not having a Belfast sink in your kitchen. If you manage to go more than 6 months, without chipping it and breaking something in it, I would be very impressed. I would look at a stone or composite sink, with a sink and a half or a double sink. You can get them under mounted, if that is what you'd like.
See about getting your windows level with your worktop as well. Easy job to do and gives a nice extra bit of light and view from your kitchen. Look at your home made perfect on iplayer for some good ideas

Good shout. Will drop window to sink height. Yep we are not the most careful people so will have a think about sink. Thanks
