Has anyone had Amtico flooring? How do you find it and how much was it with fitting? When things are more eased up looking to replace laminate but assume that Amtico will be long lasitng and more expensive.I can't see any actual prices anywhere but have seen that they need to do the fitting to validate the guarentee. I guess really what I'm asking is - is it worth it?

We have lots of Amtico. Most of it was fitted before we moved in to the house. Not sure exactly how long it’s been down but we know some of it is over 20 years old, and it still looks good, even though our dcs were quite hard on it - they used to drive cars and trains all over it for example. We liked it so much we had all the bathrooms fitted with Amtico. It is expensive but worth it IMO. We decided to go for some much cheaper flooring in our utility room and I now really regret it - it’s nowhere near as good.

We used amtico in a previous house. Thicker tread then the other LVT we would looking at and with kids and dogs that was a key feature. We were only there for a year but looked great, easy to clean and seemed to hold up well.

We have several different types of LVT around our house - most had been fitted by the people we bought it from. We had Polyflor Expona Beveline fitted in the kitchen when it was redone.

The important thing with any LVT flooring, of which Amtico is just the most well-known in the UK, is the wear layer. That's the layer on top of the printed pattern. After that the fitting is key. Amtico have thousands of options, but the retail price starts around £37 psm for Amtico Spacia and the most expensive is Amtico Deco, I think, because it's customised for the floor area you are using it in. Fitting is usually around £30-40 psm, which includes screeding to get a level surface.

Most LVT is pretty bomb proof but you will get surface scratches, some of which are more noticeable than others depending on colour of the flooring, lighting, etc. You can have it cleaned and polished to different finishes though which fills in the scratches and provides extra protection. I just use a hard floor cleaner on ours.

Pick the pattern and shade you like, but don't think it has to be Amtico to be any good.

We have Amtico in our front room because my dc bring their bikes etc into the house - our carpet was grim. The fitter had some problems fitting it because the room had been extended and the subfloor was part floorboards, part concrete and the gap was uneven. It is very practical and easy to clean, we have Amtico spacia and it’s textured - I was worried that it would be cold and slippery but it’s not.

We’ve had ours for a year, we did get a little chip in it which is really annoying - I think one of the bikes fell over and the pedal chipped it - I need to get it fixed. We would recommend. Mine cost £900 including fitting for a room which is 20 square metres.

Ah no we didn’t have amtico it was polyflor. Half the price and from a friend who is a designer same quality.

I have Amtico spacia in my lounge, laid 2 years ago, I think it was about £28 a metre (on offer at my local flooring shop). I got them to quote and John Lewis.
I did a long research of lvt on mn many threads to see which flooring seemed to be liked best/ most hard wearing. I’m delighted with it.
