please post a photo of the inside of the cistern. If it is not clear, put your finger where the water level is before flushing, and something else where the words "water level" and a line are. They should match.

Also a pic immediately after flushing so we can see how far the level drops.

does it have a flexible hose on the soil pipe?

These modern eco flush bogs are bloody rubbish. Every bathroom I have ever done up has had problems with them, and you can't get the old-fashioned loos any more because they "use too much water". Well the new ones use loads of water too because you have to flush the bastards five times.

there are some things that can be done.

Thanks pigletjohn..i will take pics tmw...it seems to fill up quite high, and has a solid plastic waste outlet....we are very handy so could adjust water intake if needed....we renovated the whole house ourselves...learning plastering and plumbing etc...i post again tmw.

Mine does this too! And it blocks all the bloody time too. Old loo from 1950something never had this problem 😂

Eco flush toilets are just awful. I just can't see how they save any water at all because it takes so many flushes to take everything away.

We have one such toilet downstairs, and a not so eco flush one upstairs. The upstairs one is far more powerful and efficient when flushed.

On all ecoflush toilets, there should be something you can adjust inside the cistern that changes the amount of water that it flushes. When the toilet doesn't clear properly, this is usually down to the fact that it hasn't been correctly adjusted to allow enough water to flow through. If you fitted it yourself, do you know what make it is?
If you are finding it is blocking though, there is likely to be a problem further down the line.

Here are the pics for Pigletjohn and anyone else who can advise...there are no blockages in the pipes as i rodded the whole lot and nothing appeared...the cistern is small compared to the old one so really doesnt hold that much water...if you look at pics it fills more or less to the overflow pipe thing and it drains almost to the bottom....thanks.

What make is it? Dudley? Or Macdee?
How long has it been installed for? Was it supplied with the toilet?
Sorry to ask lots of questions, but many times, these problems can be down to cheap products supplied with the toilet, or fitted by others. Other problems, can be down to wrong parts being fitted on to a toilet. A few times I've had to cut down the threaded pipe that allows the water to flow from the cistern to the pan, on close coupled toilets, as you can get a very shallow area. It could just be down to a washer getting stuck as the flush valve lifts. I would personally recommend replacing it with a fluidmaster pro 550.

hi
not sure what make it is...cant see any labels etc...we installed it about 10 years ago...it came from wickes i think and it was already assembled so we just plumbed it in....its been not clearing properly for past few months now...i guess we can just change the cistern part to one you suggested...many thanks for the reply.

you can increase the water, as long it doesn't reach the overflow pipe or the screws.
how to do that?, i believe the block on the left at the top of the block can be adjusted to raise it, so it doesn't lock early. pictures isn't clear.
it doesn't look to bad as water level!
