Has anyone else been left living in a building site?

Did post this on the corona virus board but then thought this one might be more appropriate!
Has this hit many of you mid building work? We are lucky in that the extension itself is finished, kitchen in etc but there’s so much work left to do inside the house and I’m finding it so hard spending so much time in it now!
Dh is supposed to be doing a lot of it but of course we can’t get materials now and in any event his job is at risk so we don’t necessarily want to spend the money right now anyway.
So much painting to do, skirting boards, flooring and carpets to be laid, bathroom is a half finished mess, loads of work left for the electricians....

Anyone else in a similar situation and want to share their pain?! Here’s a few examples.

We're doing a complete renovation on a house we bought last year; if we're lucky we'll get the roof on yet but can't get windows at the moment... Workers are still going but the supply chain is pretty much shut down so everyone just going through stock levels. Have had to delay the bathroom, kitchen etc and we're stuck paying rent in a place all the time we're delayed and not finished in the new project. The bright side is that we have a nice place to live so not the worst but it's crippling financially.

Yep half built extension and 2 toddlers! Our gardens like a warzone...OH has been referring to our kids are constantly covered in dirt!! My OH has managed to get the timber roof finished and I helped him put the fascias up once the kids went to bed! The decripid gas oven we inherited has packed in, we have a bbq but now cant get gas for it so surviving with a microwave and toaster! Our piceed together old kitchen has no ceiling and basic stuff stacked on shelves....I feel awful I cant stick to the shopping once a week as we just dont have the fridge space to do that and no freezer as this was supposed to be very temporary. Hoping we can get our skylight put on and roof felted but the roofer weve booked isn't sure he'll be able to get everything he needs, my OH can do pretty much all the inside bit if we can get roof totally finished and our bifolds turn up! We have ordered our kitchen from wren and they have said it can still come but who knows. I'm sure we are all in the same boat that it's just so frustrating being at home but not having the resources to do anything, as I would happily start on the patio but slabs and bricks are hard to get hold of x

I think that is the most frustrating part, not being able to get materials. Almost seems like a waste of time being at home like this and not being able to get on and do a few things

We've not been left in a building site but were due to have roof rethatched and chimney repaired - chimney can't be done until planning comes through and thatch can't be done until chimney done and thatch is urgent. Also means on very dodgy grounds with insurance but planning just don't reply, haven't since before lockdown and that was just to say they could have lost everything. Hmm

DD has managed to paint her room and wants to lay a laminate floor, we have the laminate, need to get hold of the tools but having issues. In theory we are getting them from B&Q now but will see. Our old house was nearly ready to go on market, just needed a clear and clean but can't get to it now.
