Integral oven has come out of its housing

Hi

I’ve looked on tube and on the internet but can’t find out how to get it back in. We’re in rented accommodation at the moment and so don’t want to make a mess or make it worse. It’s an integral oven and it’s sort of tipping forward and has dropped down if you see what I mean. Hence, it’s not in a straight flush line with the cupboards either side. I think it happened when I opened the door to take something out, the heat made me let go of the door and the weight of that has caused it to become misaligned. Any ideas how to get it back?
Thanks

it probably sits on an extra-thick shelf. Look underneath and see if the shelf has given way.

Thank PigletJohn for your advice. There isn’t one unfortunately but having got the torch out, it looks like a screw on either side has come out. I’ll just have to own up.

Check the housing for screw holes I never fix mine in it may just lift back in.

TheQueff...I think the screws have gone and what’s left from what I can see, is laminated wood chip holes that are really no longer holes, more like ruined wood chip splinters Shock

Ah bugger that's why I never fix mine in. The woodchip just disintegrates Sad

rather poor not to have a shelf. The screws are only indended to prevent it shifting about.

if you are handy you can put in a shelf. They are easily available in white, cream and "wood effect." The normal width (to fit inside a 600mm cabinet) is about 560mm wide, it is easy to do if you have a drill and screwdriver but it is awkward to lift the oven out of the way.

PigletJohn · 29/03/2020 17:55

as a temp fix you could block it up with pieces of wood underneath. The remaining fixings will probably tear out and it will fall some more. You could lever it up with a plank or something to get your blocks under.

Thank you all. It’s all rather awkward as it’s a holiday rental and we’re in lockdown. Not in the UK....I’ll just have to let the management company know...

point out that the oven was not installed on a correct shelf, and was just screwed to the sides.

If you can find the make and model, you might be able to look it up on the manufacturer's website, and I beth the installation instructions will say it must be positioned on a strong shelf.

PigletJohn...thanks....I will probably say that tbh. I’ve looked online and YouTube as I’ve mentioned ...it’s a Bosch oven and no joy. There is a solid shelf but it’s about two inches lower, so not much use as the oven was never resting on it anyway. I’ve had to take the plinth off as on opening the door no, it’s scraping on that Grin

Now it’s scraping...autocorrect
