We are purchasing a house that needs complete renovation. Currently we are renting. Currently the kitchen is tiny, we plan to do rear extension. We want to do the works in the new house in 2 stages.
- Do basic refurb, doors, plastering, plumbing, heating; will take 30/45 days
- We shall start planning application for rear extension, typically takes 4/5 months; then build the rear extension; will take another 2/3 months
So we will have a situation of 6/9 months from the time we move in where our kitchen and a bathroom will be temporary. i.e. When we do extension the Kitchen will need new flooring, wall tiles and units at the time.
How to manage this transition time. We have to move in after stage 1) to save us paying twice (rental & mortgage).
What flooring (for both kitchen & bathroom) can we use (so that either they can be either reused or so cheap that we don't mind to get rid after 9months)
What about kitchen units. Thinking if we can use proper units the 60cm ones can be reused, may be we will lose the side cuts.
Any ideas on these please.
