Carpet installation - would you?

Would you have carpet fitters to your home
in the current circumstances? Is there any way of minimising/reducing the risk to both them and us?

Backstory:
I have bought a roll end of wool carpet from a local independent flooring shop and the fitters are booked for Friday.
It's our master bedroom which we have spent ages getting plastered, decorating ourselves, filling draughty gaps.
All furniture has been dismantled and moved. We are having to sleep in DDs room and the living room.
We are desperate to get back into our room.
DIY installation, while possible, requires purchase of a few tools. But we would be willing to try it if it's actually doable.

Im in exactly the same position. We are not doing it. We have put down the underlay and we will cope for a while without the carpet

SadI thought that would be the answer.
Ours is wool underlay , I think it will be destroyed by having furniture on top. It's a really draughty room... the bed will need to be reassembled and dissembled again... ugh. I guess it's a first world problem in the scale of things though.

We are in the same position- carpets due to be fitted tomorrow in beds 2 and 3. Currently everything is in the main bedroom and I am 3 weeks away from having twins....
I would love to go ahead and then get the house organised but don’t think it is sensible.

I had the whole top of my house done last week and it was fine they just got on with it very quickly and finished in no time. I was downstairs with my children.

Why not, I reckon it could be done with the 2m distance. Open front door for them. Go in living room and close door while they fit, get them to shout ‘done’ as they leave. Pay via phone

I'm not sure 2m distance is as relevant when someone is in your home. All that they will be touching / breathing / potentially coughing over.

I would but I'm at the tail end of having caught the virus and will keep out of their way but that's my situation.

I think I have had it too (no longer infectious) but haven't been tested so no way of knowing really.

No

Cancelled. I guess the shop will be forced to close soon anyway.
