When does the house get taken off the market

We have just had an offer accepted on a house (in a different location) and have been informed by the estate agents that it will stay on the market right up until we exchange contracts....

In my town it gets taken off the market as soon as the offer has been accepted,

what happens where you live?

Am really not happy about this as it seems a really good way to get gazumped...

No this isn't right. I have sold and was told by one estate agent to keep it advertised until the survey but it was taken down by the other. I insisted it was taken down. If the house you are buying is not taken down immediately threaten to withdraw. There is nothing like loss to focus someone's mind

I have a problem with the estate agent .i had to pull out due to a breavement i put it in writing gave the 2 wk notice they asked for 5 wk later they still havent removed it i have rang and emailed but its still on the website .is there another way to have it removed?

Why do you have to put in £2k? Surely the people selling the property underneath you have to get the buyer to up their offer by £6k?
It’s standard practice to keep a chain together.
