Will solicitors and removals companies be working during the closures?

Just wonder if anyone got any info from either of these?
I would say removals would take on jobs, especially smaller ones, if it's only 2-3 guys working, not too risky. But would they have a choice?

We got ours signed by a colleague of DH's - we signed while they watched from a distance then we retreated while they witnessed.

@Fleurchamp, apparently not and it turns out they would have charged £300 per form!Shock so it would have been £900!

We managed to get our mortgage lenders to witness it in the end, for £0 👍

Fleurchamp · 21/03/2020 16:54

That's shocking @Mozziesloveme I am glad you got it sorted out in the end.

MozziesLoveMe · 21/03/2020 19:30

@Fleurchamp, it really is. Be interested to hear if this is the norm!

Kind of feel like we're all walking a bit of a tight rope Confused, but we'll see.

Yes. They are on the keyworkers list. Don't worry

MozziesLoveMe · 21/03/2020 19:36

Removals companies surely aren't on the list @maddy68 ?...

Fleurchamp · 21/03/2020 20:21

@MozziesLoveMe it really doesn't sound the norm, no, but I don't know the full matter.

I am not on a key worker list, which is fine as my job isn't really essential but I am receiving so many enquiries for new Wills. I am going to struggle to deal with them all due to childcare, working from home etc. I already do meetings via Skype/ FaceTime etc but lots of my older clients are self isolating and do not have access to the technology. It is actually quite sad, they want to update/ make a Will because they genuinely fear that they will die soon.

Was one an occupier's consent form @MozziesLoveMe? I can understand charging a bit more for that but £300 is ridiculous.

My firm charged £5 for witnessing documents when I worked for a high street practice.

Lawyers currently overwhelmed by requests for will writing services.
