Anyone had their driveway done? Resin or otherwise

We have a 80 meter square concrete driveway that's broken and cracked (large tree now removed caused it)

We need the drive resolving but looking at google and Facebook pages of companies that specialise we think it might be £115 per meter as the concrete will have to come up and can't be just 'top dressed' 9k is a hell of a lot of money on a drive!

Our drive is half covered by a car port with gates then the other side has a slight slope so I don't think gravel would work.

I'd appreciate any advice or accounts of your own experiences of doing this.

£115per sq m sounds pricey, where are you based? I'm London/Herts border and got mine done last year by an excellent firm far cheaper than that. IIRC, it tended to work out as about £100per sq m for the top end materials - we could have had nice Indian sandstone slabs for that etc, or regular block paving worked out under £80psm, including removing current driveway etc. We were on a big slope too, and yes gravel is the cheapest but wouldn't have worked for us either.

I had looked into resin but couldn't find a reputable firm who had a good portfolio of resin jobs, so went with block paving instead and love it, it's worked out so well.

We considered resin but didn’t really have the long grand driveway to suit (ours is sort of three cars parked width).

Didn’t want to deal with weeds creeping up so replaced ours with printed concrete (faux brick design) for around £96/m. This included clearing the site of the mosh mash of grass/brick/concrete/gravel that was there to start with.

Pleased with the finish and look and had lots of compliments. Lots of tradesmen about who can fit similar so worth shopping around.

Hmmm maybe we are overestimating and expecting the worst at £115, we are in North Yorkshire. There's quite a lot of resin and block paving round by us. We went for a walk around the village after I posted and realised a lot of the ones with the niaace driveways were the bigger fancier houses or belong to the oldies with the free cash.

Interesting to hear what you say about weeds creeping in etc. I'd assumed that wouldn't be a problem with resin!

If there’s one you’ve seen local to you, I’d put a note through the door and ask who did it!!
