Anyone have a house that has LPG heating? Is it expensive? Any problems? New house we are considering has it. Thanks.

If its the bottles its very expensive, think 1 a week in winter. A tank is slightly cheaper but not as cheap as oil.

Following as I'm looking into getting this via a government scheme (am on night storage heating at the moment which is even worse!)

Might be better off looking into air source heat pumps instead ?

Of the big three in heating (natural gas, LPG and kerosene), LPG is the most expensive to run. The price per unit of LPG, is normally about 20p more than Oil and about 35-40p more than natural gas. You then have to pay rent for a gas tank as this is cheaper per unit than using bottles. You are also then beholden to having everything set up to gas safe regulations, otherwise you won't get fuel deliveries.
In terms of problems, you shouldn't experience any more issues on the day to day running of your heating system than if you had a natural gas boiler. They are normally natural gas boilers, but with an adaptor to convert it to LPG.

@MonaChopsis
Could I ask you more about the government scheme please?
I know a lovely lady that is disabled and really struggling with the cost of her storage heaters.
