Electric Gates?

Hi all,
We're considering putting electric gates on the front of our new property. Our mad dog plus v active toddler makes me think it would be a good idea from a safety point of view. Does anyone have a ball park idea of costs?
Thank you!

Yes, approximately £4 to 5,000 including VAT. That also included a pedestrian gate which your postie and other visiting people will find invaluable.

Ours cost around £5000 - pressure treated wood. Money very well spent though.

Ours were around £3,500 several years ago.
Maintenance costs around £200 pa.

Thanks everyone. Would you recommend a dise gate or one of those pillars with postbox in for the postman?

It's not just the postman though, if you have frequent deliveries. How will they gain access to your front door? If you have the space I'd install a separate adjacent pedestrian gate. I'll see if I can attach a photo of what we've got.

Annoyingly I can't seem to access my photo album to attach a decent pic. I'll get one next time I'm out.

Remembered I can take photos off my security camera. Honest, this is a nice area, low crime, yet I've still got CCTV and electric gates!

Hope the photo gives you some idea what I'm talking about.

We’ve got electric gates without a separate pedestrian gate. It helps that we can open the gate remotely with our security alarm app. Otherwise it would be a pain to miss deliveries when we’re out (at the moment, if there’s no answer when the Amazon guy rings the bell, he calls me and then I open the gate from my phone and he can leave the parcel on the porch).

I’d put a pedestrian gate in too if you have space.

You can have a button or an intercom for the deliveries . No big deal
