Would be really grateful for any shared wisdom. We have had a new kitchen installed with a quartz worktop and quartz splashback behind the NEFF gas hob. The gas fitter thinks that the cut-out for the gas hob is incorrect, too close to the splashback (less than the 50mm recommended by the manufacturer). The quartz worktop and splashback supplier is trying to fob me off. I guess the risk would be of flame scorch marks - has anything like this happened to anyone or is it just a theoretical risk?
