Kitchen Fitting costs

Hi, I am getting quotes at the moment to replace my kitchen (we will supply the kitchen but not the rest of the materials etc) and have had two wildly different quotes so far. It's probably a medium sized kitchen (6 upper units and 6 lower with spaces for the oven, washer, dryer and dishwasher). Both have said it will take about 2 weeks to complete, so once I account for the materials they have quoted there is a big difference in labour costs.
Can anyone advise how much you would expect to pay a day for kitchen fitters? We're in NW England if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!

We've just had ours done - it was all arranged as a package, so I'm not sure whether this will have affected the price of the installation.

We paid around £5.5k for installation, which included complete strip out of the old kitchen, tiles, floor, etc, and disposal. We had the ceiling boarded and replastered and some rewiring, which was needed to bring the electrics up to standard, so this will have increased the cost.

Took them (team of two) two weeks. I'm in the SE.

We charge our labour on fits out at £200 per person per day. We allow 4 days for a team of two to fit a kitchen, or 3 days for 3 people so it’s about £2800-3000 a fit. 2 weeks seems a long time.

Hi, I'm in NW. I have had two similar sized kitchens fitted. One was £1000 10 years ago. One was £750 2 years ago.
DP is an electrician so the cost of this wasn't included. We also took down a wall ourselves and re-boarded and arranged our own plasterer and floor fitter. We also removed the old kitchens ourselves.
My parents have recently had their kitchen fitted and the quotes varied dramatically.

Should have said that the fitting was done within a week with one fitter. Many units come pre-built so it does seem a long time for fitting.

Just to add to my above comment, our fitters are skilled cabinet makers who have made all the doors etc and will scribe to walls. I’d expect to pay less for Jon the builder to do it.

Where are you based @AGreatUsername?

South Wales @BammBamm

Thanks, the 2 weeks include removing the old kitchen, plastering, electrics (new plugs and moving oven), fitting the new (pre built) kitchen and tiling (splashback and floor).
I'm just not very confident with getting professionals in after a bad experience when we first got the house!

You will save money by 'project managing' yourself. We were confident with a small job as DP has worked in a trade for 20+ years. Do you know anyone who could give you a recommendation? Don't use Facebook reviews though, my friend has been badly stung and had to get DP and other people in to put the work right, despite their numerous 5* reviews.

I might not be too far from you if you want some help, feel free to PM me.
