Hague Blue / inchyra blue is what Instagram would say...

AGreatUsername · 03/02/2020 19:00

We’ve got Designers Guilt Moonlit Nights. I find Hague too ashy. I also didn’t pay DG prices, I had it mixed in Johnson’s.

I've got Hague Blue in my sitting room - it's lovely. We also have Stiffkey in Ds's room which is gorgeous too!

Ooo I like moonlit night @AGreatUsername !

We have Next's Dark Chambre in our dining room, very nice shade and great quality paint.

ShirleyPhallus · 03/02/2020 21:56

F&b is terrible quality, we had The Hague blue in our living room and it scratched and marked so easily

Dulux will colour match for you so that’s a better option. Pinstripe is nice.

VinandVigour · 04/02/2020 02:27

Little Green Hicks Blue is my favourite. I had normally used F&B but got chatting to a professional decorator who was buying LG paint for his own house, so took a chance. Probably won’t go back to F&B, as it covered beautifully and has not a single mark on it, despite being on a wall with a woodburner and all the wood piled up in one alcove.

Dulux Breton Blue - dark but warm.

We've used Valspars Some Starry Night in our spare room and it's lovely.

SistersOfPercy · 04/02/2020 11:10

I have stiffkey in my bedroom. One of those where you panic putting it on but looks lovely when done.

I have a Valspar Deep Space Echo in the dining room which is closer to a black, but the Valspar colours are wide ranging and really nice to use actually.

We have Hague Blue in our living room. It's gorgeous, a really warm colour despite being so dark.

I would disagree with @VinandVigour - I've found F&B surprisingly easy to work with. It's a lot thinner than some paints, but has great coverage - one coat would have just about done the job, but I did two anyway.

Little Greene, on the other hand, I will never buy again. I love the shades, which are so much more vibrant than F&B etc, but I painted our spare room in Hopper (green), and it was horrid to work with. Poor coverage - I did two coats, but it could have done with three or even four - and one tin of paint hardly covered any surface area compared to other paints. It's also really hard to get even coverage, even with great care, I can still see every brushstroke!

FWIW, Zoffany has been my favourite paint to work with so far - it's like painting with liquid velvet!

ThatThereWoman · 04/02/2020 11:51

Yes I saw the Valspar and thought they looked really lovely. Have never tried Zoffany. Might look at them both for my bedroom.

SistersOfPercy · 04/02/2020 12:05

The Valspar is really odd. The Deep Space Echo I used is almost black (which I wanted), but in the tin is a teal blue colour. I didn't think there was any way at all it would dry to the colour of the swatch but it did.
