Wardrobe help anyone?

Hi

We are completely redecorating our bedroom and replacing our wardrobe. We have just under 3 metres of wall, widthways, and 2 and a half floor to ceiling.

I want to use as much of this space as possible, I can't find any free-standing wardrobes that fit the bill so I've been looking at the Ikea Pax range. I don't like any of the doors so was thinking we'd buy the frame and inside from Ikea and then buy doors from somewhere else.
Has anyone done this? Or are there any alternatives we should consider? Not sure about building them right to the ceiling, does that look a bit oppressive?

Any advice very gratefully received !
Thank you

I don't have much room left either and find a lot of wardrobes are bulky and don't look right. I've been looking at the ikea pax range aswell and whilst I don't want all mirror, I also don't want all white. So I think I'm going to buy the white doors with square panels and get mirrors cut to fill them like this which I think looks lovely, not sure if it would be to your taste though?

I have a similar space, although ceilings are a bit higher. One side of the wall is sloped though so couldn’t fit the 236cm frame. I’m going to contact a couple of local joiners and see what they think. I’m going to do full ceiling height as I think it looks more finished and I want to maximize the storage space.

I would definitely go all the way to ceiling, it looks more finished. I have IKEA PAX units/rails etc in my dressing room (obviously without the IKEA doors) and have been really impressed with them. Good to have everything including shelves/shoe racks etc. I would recommend.
