Turning spare room into kids dressing room/playroom

Hi- we are in a 3 bedroom detached house which has very limited storage space anywhere. Currently 2 kids share a bedroom however bunk beds take up the majority of space and there isn't really room for drawers or wardrobe. Currently we have a daybed in the spare room with drawers underneath which I use for kids clothes then the rest hang in my wardrobe. I have been thinking about getting rid of the daybed and turning the spare room into more of a dressing room with more drawer space and storage space and possibly moving some of the toys that have spilled out of the play room into the living room up there as well but really don't know where to start with it what would work best with the space to get maximum storage options would appreciate any advice thanks

so they have a playroom, a small bedroom and now you want to give them the other bedroom?
if the other bedroom is larger why dont they just move into that?

is it possible you have too many toys if they dont fit into a playroom?

The other bedroom is smaller, their bedroom is also not the biggest which is why the bunk beds take up so much space. They probably do have too many toys although they don't have any in their bedroom as it's pretty much just the beds that fit in there alongside a dressing up rail

Size wise is the spare room bigger than their current bedroom? Will they always want to share?

Personally I would bank an entire wall with floor to celing storage in one of the bedrooms with an interior storage system that you can change and adjust as needs change, whether clothing or toy rotation.

Re too many toys, sometimes toys are just big, ie train track, or a toy kitchen with pans, fruit and veg etc takes up a lot of space.

@TreeClimbingCat I think something like that would work- they won't want to share forever they are 5 and 2 eventually one will move to the spare room. The bunkbeds have a shelf type thing built in which we didn't factor in how much extra space that would take up in the room.

And yes re the toys they have a lot of big toys so dolls house and kitchen take up a lot of space

Excellent, before you do it think about potentially where a bed could be placed whilst keeping the storage.

With a 5 and 2 year old (same gap as my children) they can share for years, by which time the toy selection will change too and the storage needs change.
