Anyone with a recent Neff Slide and Hide oven?

I'm just having my kitchen done and with it I bought an Neff N70 combi oven and a Neff N90 single slide and hide oven. The exact model of the single oven is B57CS24H0B.

My question is on the single oven around the stainless steel decorative left and right trims, on the door.

On the Combi oven, these trims feel nice and firm and secure.

On the Single Oven, they feels loose (especially on the upper side) when you touch them.

Anyone else with this problem or have the trims not been installed correctly?

Is it normal? No one seems to know

I've spoken to Neff - they do not seem to know. I've seen one Neff oven installed where I bought my kitchen and the side trims also move there.

Anyone else who perhaps owns one can help?

I've just checked my Neff B57CR22N0B single oven. And yes, the left and right sides are "wobbly" - never noticed before.

that's very helpful!

Neff wanted to blame my installer, but I dont think that's the case.

For an expensive product it's surprising to see the trims so wobbly.

I've phoned an indepedent appliance retailer and they also told me that it's a property of the Slide and Hide ovens....I mean I love the slide and hide aspect of it, but the trims being wobbly is kinda of unacceptable in my opinion

Yes, mine are wobbly too. I hate it. I've had loads of Neff ovens, and the most recent two are my least favourite, and most expensive!

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 20/01/2020 14:56

I've checked mine.
The side trims on the small combi are rock solid.
I wouldn't call the trims on large Slide n Hide wobbly- if i poke them, they flex a tiny bit but don't wobble

kkudi · 20/01/2020 15:01

Do they flex more on the top side?

Yes wobbly might bit a bit of a strong word.

I have a video of it I will
Try to upload and post a link

Just checked again and can confirm that it's just the top half that flex on mine

kkudi · 20/01/2020 16:27

Posted a video. Is it the same behaviour?

My Neff hide and slide broke a few days after the warranty expired. We hadn't even used it much (it was the second oven). Neff were rubbish. Part of the plastic snapped requiring a whole new door (hundreds of pounds). So we ended up getting a different oven. My advice would be to try to swap it for an alternative oven without hide and slide.

kkudi · 20/01/2020 17:36

@TheGoatIsHere would be great if you could watch the video and let me know if you experience the same :-)

I've watched the video - mine doesn't move like yours but mine is in the middle of a run of tall units. I notice that yours has room for sideways movement as there is no unit to the right, and a gap for your handleless doors on the left, so my set up is different

user1498572889 · 20/01/2020 20:16

The ones in my show room are not wobbly. Why did you buy 2 ovens that don’t match?

user1498572889 · 20/01/2020 20:18

You can buy a silver strip that will go down the sides of both oven and combi oven. They then look seamless. The people you purchased them from should have suggested this.

jigster01 · 20/01/2020 20:23

Just checked mine..I have 2 on top of each other in the middle of a run and ......mine are wobbly too ! Never noticed before ,but I think they are great ovens ..

TheGoatIsHere · 20/01/2020 20:46

Watched video - same as mine in terms of flex

Iggly · 20/01/2020 20:48

Only a bit wobbly at the top and only if I push in a certain place. It doesn’t bother me. Had it for nearly two years

kkudi · 20/01/2020 22:46

It's encouraging to hear that they all flex a bit.
It's not the end of the world but I would have preferred if it was a bit sturdier.

The ovens do match - it's my kitchen designer who suggested these two. However they didn't suggest to buy a single trim for both of them and having checked online with Neff, this is quite expensive - circa £150

I guess mine is a bit more obvious because it's not Wedged in between units.

We bought one in our last house and regretted it. The door came right off one day! Even though it was under guarantee Neff took weeks (months?) to send someone to come and fix it and we had no oven for that whole time. I’ve boycotted them ever since.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 21/01/2020 10:38

I've ahd another go with mine, this time opening the door og the next door unit , and yes I can really move it! But it's still not wobbly and it doens't seem to move in use

kkudi · 21/01/2020 10:55

No it doesn't affect the oven operation at all.

Thanks everyone for checking!

I have the same set up as you describe. The combi oven side panels are firm and the hide and slide sides are 'wobbly' as you describe. However I love my neff ovens.

minipie · 21/01/2020 20:58

Mine move a little when I really push them but they don’t wobble any other time - never noticed until you asked and I checked! Those bits just clip in don’t they?

Solasum · 21/01/2020 21:06

Mine doesn’t move at all. I did have an absolute perfectionist kitchen fitter though. I love my slide and hide oven. It makes me feel like a real adult. Though now if cooking in other people’s kitchens I invariably nearly burn myself on oven doors that I expect to hide but don’t
