Moving To Hornchurch

Hi All,
During 4 years' time in London, we lived in Regents Park, Waterloo, Stratford, Barnet.
We found a very nice house in Hornchurch, Bellway Project, and really liked it, size is large enough, 4beds garden garage, etc.
The schools are outstanding in Primary but Good in Secondary Level.
I am still not sure whether we are doing the correct choice.
Budget; around £600K
commuting to City, Stratford (currently) and Canary Wharf.
We are in the early 30s with a little one 1year old.
We want to benefit from Help to Buy but can afford the mortgage without H2B.
We have made a thorough research to buy a new home (Barnet, Stratford, Greenwich, Putney, Hamstead, Kent, etc.) and found the Bellway`s project in Hornchurch.
I have not heard any bad things about Hornchurch but read some news like; the residents do not like immigrants, etc. I highly appreciate taking your feedbacks.

Have a look at the demographic.

I also wouldn’t choose the area if you’re after good schools.

many thanks for the response.
two of my friends are reluctant to move here due to secondary schools` performance, agreed.
I know that this completely depends on preferences, what would be your choice with this budget and wishes at least 90m2 size? easy commute, nice home, green areas, young family, immigrant welcoming, nice schools:)

I’m down in Sutton in zone 5 and can recommend it. Fantastic schools, lots of families, many parks and things for children to do, countryside on the doorstep. Sutton is also quite international/culturally diverse (without one main group - just a really nice mix). The trains go into London Bridge, Victoria and there’s the Thameslink to Blackfriars, City Thameslink and beyond. It has a big town centre. For a smaller town centre, Worcester Park could be good and for a more villagey feel Carshalton and Cheam are nice.

I’m afraid I don’t know the east side of London to recommend anywhere closer to Stratford.
