Rightmove listing since October

In this current climate, if a property was listed on rightmove since October would you discount it especially if other properties have listed this month but sold within the week?

Unfortunately what rightmove doesn't show is that it was on the market for 6 week late Oct- early Dec (worst time I know!) then off the market until mid Jan when it was put back on the market. Reason being listed during as EA promo testing the waters. Marketed now as found a property. Intention wasn't to list again until March but need to now.

Just curious as been on for 4 days and 1 viewing booked for next week whereas 3 properties of the same style have sold within 2 says of going on rightmove. I think it's the listed since Oct that may be making people think twice.

It wouldn't make me think twice about going to view it.

It might make me think I could get away with a lower offer if it looked like it is taking longer to sell than similiar properties.

Hmm okay. We has a fair bit of interest the first time. Just noone was proceedable.

We bought a house that had been on the market for almost a year. Got a bit of money off but nothing to write home about. And we absolutely love it. Horses for courses I think!

The house we bought had been on the market for a year, the venders had 2 sales fall through no fault of their own through so it was just had luck. So glad we viewed it as it's our dream home 😊

Monetmoney · 18/01/2020 21:40

It wouldn't put me off viewing at all, but it might make me consider making a lower offer.

Geepee71 · 19/01/2020 19:02

Majority of the properties I'm keeping an eye on have been on since about October, or even earlier.
Would consider making a lower offer, but not stupid low.
Market has been really slow and it's hit and miss as to what gets snapped up quickly.

Shadowboy · 19/01/2020 19:04

I wouldn’t be put off but it would make me think it was overpriced and therefore I might offer lower than the asking price

AvocadoSink · 19/01/2020 20:44

Wouldn't put me off, but if the market is that fast I would assume it was very overpriced or had something odd about it - almost worth a visit more.

anonymouse · 19/01/2020 21:21

Yeah, I sort of expected that people may come in lower. Each of the 3 got asking price and we are competitively priced with those so I really don't think we're priced too high. EA has since called and we now have viewings all week so hopefully we sell very soon. I've noticed a lot of people driving by to have a look. We're in a quiet cul de sac so its very obvious.

The house we’ve just bought had been on the market over a year. Didn’t bother us and we got a bargain!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/01/2020 10:10

That’s nothing, IMO. A house near us was almost continuously on the market with different agents for nearly 3 years.
It was very overpriced at first, but did eventually sell.
Certainly wouldn’t put me off, if it ticked most of the boxes.

cushioncovers · 21/01/2020 17:03

Wouldn't put me off viewing it. I recently viewed a house that's been on the market since end of September. I liked it but it needed work and the vendor wasn't budging on the asking price so my offer was rejected🤷🏻‍♀️.
