How would you arrange furniture in this bedroom?

Am buying a flat (1 bed) but am now wondering if the bedroom is too small really.

It is 11ft 7 ins by 9ft. Door is in corner of one long wall and window in middle of the short wall (furthest from door) with radiator under it.

I'm not good at visualising but would want a double bed (kingsize not needed) plus wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Ideally would like bedside tables too. The other rooms are decent size so no need for desk/book cases etc.

Do you think I could get the stuff in and how would you arrange it to best make use of the space. Or do you think it's too small?

Thanks v much.

Any thoughts about if that room is big enough for normal bedroom furniture?

Much appreciated.

It's not huge but it is big enough.
The bed will be about 4'6 * 6'3 so there is space for the furniture.
You need at least 1 bedside cabinet , 2 if you don't sleep alone. These can vary in size. Ones with drawers are better than tables. You will want somewhere to put your phone/alarm clock etc.

Fitted wardrobes make best use of the space. Do you prefer wardrobe to a chest of drawers? Standalone wardrobes can look nice.

I think that the bed should be in the middle of the wall furthest away from the door. A bed with space underneath or one with storage is useful for storing out of season clothes.

Something to consider is whether or not the bed has a footboard. They are a PITA if you are tall.

My bedroom has the same layout, OP, but is slightly larger. We have wardrobes built in along the full length of the wall opposite the door - two large hanging cupboards with a dressing table (with drawers underneath) in the middle. Against the other long wall (so just to the right of the door) is a super king bed, with room for a bedside table either side.
I think if you were to replicate this but with a double bed, the only concern would be the space between the foot of the bed and the wardrobes - but if you had sliding doors on them then it might work.

Bed needs to go on opposite wall to door, just a bedside cabinet between it and window wall. You wont get anything on the door wall. You've then got about 5' of wall to fit a 3' wardrobe and a 2' chest of drawers which would double as the other bedside table. So not a lot of room for storing things but just about manageable.

The room sounds big enough but maybe a bit awkward.

One tip for a lot more storage is a storage divan bed as per picture. Then it should be easier to manage with a smaller wardrobe.

I’d probably put the bed on the wall opposite the door, as near the window as possible with bedside tables on either side. I’d have the wardrobe on the short wall opposite the widow. Preferably with sliding doors as they are space saving.

Sliding doors can help with space. Don't have all mirrored doors as they can be a bit too much and unless they are good will be a bit Confused
Bedside tables come in different widths and heights and can be great for storage.
I have a chest of drawers on one side of the bed and a small table on the empty guest side. It suits me. the bed is nearer the wall on the guest side.
You will probably want some sort of dressing table.

You may want a chair or something to put next day's clothes on too.

The less furniture you have the better really, so built in storage is great.
