Thanks all! Taking note. The toy hammocks a relative has, I just worry about them getting super dusty up there?! Hope that doesn't make me sound like a prin, I'm actually not v house proud, I promise
Our bedroom is two alcoves + chimney breast, yeah - it's a really big bedroom. We have a wardrobe in each alcove and then our double bed is in the middle, headboard against chimney breast. However the rest of the house has been modified so we don't have alcoves like that in any other room.
Book shelves around door frames v cool but perhaps a bit busy hmm will think about it.
Dining room is our main playroom, yes. We only have quite a small dining table. Trofast looks like good idea. Thinking of taking the changing table down as DD is only changed there first thing in the morning now anyway as she doesn't tolerate it at all other than that. Our changing table is in dining room so that will free up some space for a tall unit like Trofast or something for storage of maybe toys and/or board games or whatever. We have board games on a big bookshelf atm but it looks v messy so would like to move them to an alternative solution if poss and replace that shelf with books.
Think we need another plug socket put in DD's bedroom too, will speak to our LL about that (a relative so hopefully can be arranged - how much would that cost? Clueless on that front). We just saw the IKEA toddler wardrobe that is high up with draws underneath, that would be ideal for DD's bedroom. But we didn't see it when we moved in and we bought the normal toddler wardrobe, doh. Which we have only affixed to the wall about two months ago so deffo not changing that lol. Work has been soooo slow with our house, so hard to find time with toddler and work. And she's a light sleeper so hardly can be doing DIY whilst she naps/sleeps grr.
Cycling toys probs good idea too. Loft is accessible, there's a ladder attached, and its a decent size.
The spare room wardrobe probs was a bad idea with hindsight, our relative LL thought it a good idea but we mostly use it for towels etc so a cabinet or something probs more useful. However we are on a budget and it's only about a year old, thinking those storage boxes you can hang on the rail might help us make better use of it and keep it tidy.
This thread has given me so many good ideas already ta! Think need trip to IKEA soon...
