Seller has withdrawn

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and currently rent privately, however won't be able to afford to rent while on maternity so have been looking to buy.

I had an offer on a flat accepted a few weeks ago which was perfect for me, everything was progressing well, survey done, and I'd paid the solicitor for searches to be done, then today I've been told the seller is withdrawing. He owns 3 flats in the block and was selling them all, and has apparently decided he doesn't want to sell mine now.

I don't know if it's the pregnancy hormones but I feel so so upset over it - I still have some time but feel it'll be a big rush to buy somewhere else and the market is slow at the moment.

The area I live in is very expensive but I really need to stay nearby so I can return to work after maternity (part of the payment agreement), and because I'd like to be close to my family for support as I'm having this baby alone. There's no room for me in my mums house and I don't qualify for social housing because I have just over the savings limit.

I just don't know what I'm doing to do, has anyone else felt stuck when it comes to where to live and can offer any advice please?

Sorry to hear this news. Awful behaviour from the vendor. The system for buying and selling property is Engjand is rubbish.
However you are what is known as a 'hot buyer'. You already have a mortgage approved. You should call and call every local estate agent and tell them what happened and say you are very keen. Get a sales agent's name and call them up every couple of days. When they go to take on a new property, they should tell you first.

Good luck! Look at chain free, or very short chain.
