Living by a small play area

We are nearly at exchange point for a new build. DH is flip-flopping. It is a small development of 50 houses, it is in a quiet village.

Outside the house is a small greenery and park - I mean there is just a small child's swing, slide and one of those things on a big spring that bounces to and fro.

It doesn't bother me. We have a 3yr old DS and I can see us using it daily. We want another child too.

Would this put anyone off?

No it wouldn't put me off. It would attract me. It's not as though it's an inner-city playground where teens congregate. What you could do though is go there after dark on a Friday and just check. Or ask the neighbours.

The busiest time for it will be after school but because it's in the middle of a development it will probably just be local children from the houses using it.

If it were near the school route on a main road, then it would be busier.

Is there another, larger park in the village?

I live in front of the play park for the while estate. (Couple of hundred houses, new estate) my youngest is nearly 6 and she can play out by herself daily as I can see her from the kitchen. She knows loads of local kids and they all play together. The only downside for me is it's my house they want to come into all the time and she bloody invites them!! I've got to know another parent too and we leave our girls with each other occasionally when we need to run errands.

I also had a wobble thinking we should switch to a house in the road behind but so glad I didn't! Great for parents of small kids and my pre teens spent a lot of time out in the summer too with older kids which means my daughter now knows someone she catches the school bus with.

It's worked out great for us. The only concern is there's still a block of flats to be finished so it might get busier!

Thanks, both.

There is a play area further up in the village.

This play area is tiny so I have no worries.

Just wish DH would make up his mind as it's getting a bit late in the day...
