Kitchen Units

I live in East London. I need recommendations of where to get Kitchen Units from not from Wickes, B&Q, or Howdens. Any experiences of Wrens as I'm tempted or rather to go for an independant kitchen company.
Thanks.

DIY Kitchens deliver everywhere. They can do bespoke elements or Farrow and Ball the units but are reasonably priced.

Thanks JoJoSM2. Whats their quality like compared to Wrens?

we were impressed with the quality of the doors finish the one we liked is the one where the customer coffee machine is sited so quite a high traffic area of the shop, people had mentioned fingerprints showing on gloss but my OH put his hands on them a few times and no marks whatsoever, we are going for highline with drawer at the top handled units in petrol blue with carrera marble white and grey laminate worktops, we got wickes to measure and qoute so all we had to do was take a list of requirements down to DIY and our kitchen is 14 feet long, wickes could only do 12 foot worktops DIY can do 15 foot long ones i dont know about interest free option as we are paying cash when we order wickes qouted £5000 DIY £3000

Just bought from DIY too and can’t recommend them enough.

Quality is far superior to an almost identical howdens one my friend has also just bought and hers is genuinely falling apart. Customer service is good but I’m not aware of them offering credit as we paid cash too
and I didn’t spot anything on their website.

Those of you who went to DIY, who did your design? I'm not confident about doing the measuring myself. Our kitchen is large, but awkwardly shaped.

Mosaic123 · 21/11/2019 17:06

John Lewis will do you a kitchen design for £50. Book online.

isseywith4vampirecats · 21/11/2019 17:48

we got wickes to come and measure up then went to the shop to get the plans and list of what we needed and prices, but ours is straight forward we just want the cupboards and worktops no appliances

I’ve used DIY and been happy too (matt not gloss though)

I’ve seen Units Online mentioned on here as a similar option

JoJoSM2 · 21/11/2019 21:41

skippy, I did my own kitchen design. But I've done some interior design courses and it's been a hobby of mine for over 20 years.
I think they check that customer don't plan sth daft but won't help with prettiness side of things.

minipie · 22/11/2019 09:30

skippy67 If you’re really not confident with measuring, but you want to use a company like DIY kitchens, here’s what I would do. Find a good independent local kitchen fitter. You’ll need one once you have the kitchen anyway. Ask the fitter to do the measuring. You might need to pay for this, or they might be happy to do it on the promise of the fitting work later on. They will know very well what is important to measure and what can/can’t be worked around.

minipie · 22/11/2019 09:30

They won’t do the design obviously, just the measurements.

DIY Kitchens in South Kirkby are reasonably priced, they come ready made (not flat-packed) and they come out top on Which! The showroom is a long way away but it is beautiful. You can order it all online, you don't have to go up there. Wren on the other hand does not come out well on Which! and the showrooms I went to see were shoddy with cupboards not put together properly. If they can't put their showroom together properly it doesn't fill me with confidence for my own kitchen.

I've seen that designer come up with excellent advice on Houzz. I think they offer afforable design service if buying somewhere that doesn't.

Have a look at Betterkitchens. Similar set up to DIY kitchens (which I have visited several times), based in Weston super Mare but deliver all over the UK. Excellent quality, similar pricing but their service, help and support are way better than any I've ever experienced. Nothing was too much trouble. We love our new kitchen. Highly recommend them.
