Neighbours garage conversion

I've lived in my house for 10 years. I bought it in August. It's a modern mid terrace. In ten years I've barely heard a peep from either side. Over the summer one of the houses has the garage converted into another bedroom. (It's a student house) I didn't object to planning permission, but commented about it being sound proofed. Since it's been converted I can hear their music and even people using the toilet. I don't feel that I can constantly ask them to turn it down, as I don't think they are being particularly unreasonable with it. (Though they have when I've asked)
Do I contact the letting agent and ask the landlord to deal with it? Or do I wait till the end of the academic year in case they are just noisier than usual?

But if they aren't being unreasonable with noise, what do you expect the Landlord to do about it ?

You could contact the council and check that it meets building regs.

Does the garage connect to your house somehow? or do you mean you can hear it with windows open when you are at that end of house?
In any case, why wait, talk to the landlord.

It is on the party wall. Directly next to my kitchen and lounge, I'd quite like them to sound proof it. But not sure if that's being unreasonable!

I did mention it to the builder when I ran into the checking something out after it was finished. He said it met regulations, but I have a feeling it was done on the cheap given the way the drive was hacked up to install a new sewage pipe. Hmm

I agree with Evalina
