If your walls are pale/neutral what colour is your woodwork?

Just trying to decide on colour schemes even though I haven't even renovated the house yet Grin. I want to be prepared well in advance so I'm not choosing paint and holding things up.
So if you have white/grey/other neutral coloured walls, what colour are your doors and skirtings? A contrasting or a harmonious shade?Or have you left the doors unpainted?
Also, if you don't like grey, like me Wink, what neutral shade have you used on the walls - white, 'coloured' whites, magnolia etc.
I'm going for a vintage/period look.

Slight correction - if I could find a grey that makes my lounge look lighter and warmer I might try it. The sample pot shades I have tried appear cold and dark - Dulux Polished Pebble for example.

White walls and skirting/frames but oak doors and furniture to balance.

Try Farrow and Ball Ammonite. No blue.
Otherwise you could "paint in" the trim ie paint it the same colour as the walls or a toning contrast. Not magnolia. Look at soft greens.

I like to paint the woodwork in the same colour as the walls. Emulsion on the walls and eggshell on the woodwork.

I’ve got greige walls, warm white woodwork + limed oak floors. It’s a 20’s house but quite a period look with tall-ish ceilings, cornicing, ceiling roses and column radiators.

Have you looked on Houzz or Pinterest for inspiration?

Crown "spotlight" is a beautiful grey, it's almost palest powdery lilac in some lights. I wouldn't say it's warm - but it's certainly not a cool grey.

White woodwork and ceilings always.

We have Dulux Egyptian Cotton on our walls and white for woodwork and ceilings.

PBW.

We just redid the kitchen, keeping white walls but with a slightly taupe cast, and the woodwork in the same taupe two shades darker (which was still much lighter than dark oak stain we had before).

We have Wimborne White eggshell on all interior windows. We have Wimborne White exterior eggshell on all exterior windows. Suits everywhere! Goes with every other room colour. Easy to remember. House looks cohesive and streamlined. Not disjointed. Same carpets in all bedrooms too.

We have oak doors that are treated with a osmo finish. Wimborne White skirtings. My doors have fantastic handles though and the house has character.

PBW. Matte or eggshell. Try f and b skimming stone op, it's the perfect greige and warmer than polished pebble.
