Fridge bulb

Morning all!
I asked yesterday about my oven bulb and @dementedpixie very kindly gave me some great advice which led to me replacing the bulb and being very happy.
Anyway! The fridge bulb has gone, I’ve taken it out and it says on the plastic cover maximum 10w. I’m struggling to find a 10w bulb but have read about led bulbs for the fridge instead. Is an led bulb a better idea? And what wattage do I get as I’ve noticed it works differently with an led bulb.
Thanks all in advance!

If you want a LED bulb you need an E14 small Edison screw bulb 1.5 watt. Wilkos, Dyas, Screwfix etc should stock them.

Thank you! Have you tried an led bulb in your fridge, are they better than a normal bulb do you know?

I haven't in the fridge but use the same bulb in a small decorative lamp. It seems okay.

an LED bulb uses less electricity than an incandescent bulb (almost 90% less) and produces about 90% less heat, and can last about ten times as long.

So, all round, a better product.

Dimmable bulbs are less efficient.

update

I just had a look for SES E14 (small screw-in) pygmy bulbs with LED, and can't find any. In my cooker hood I fitted Candle bulbs, but your fridge probably doesn't have room (they are bigger than a pygmy)

I looked here Wickes have a good range usually.

and Wilko have a pygmy, but not LED.

The wholesaler has some, but I don't know what they'd charge in carriage and handling for one bulb....

Maybe buy a hundred and sell them to 'snetters for £2 each?

@PigletJohn thank you for your help! I’ve actually just been googling trying to find a bulb. There’s plenty of 15w equivalents but I can’t seem to find a 10w equivalent. There’s an electrical shop up the road so I may pop in there later on in the week and see if they have anything suitable.
Failing that selling them to mumsnetters is a great idea!! Or stocking fillers for Christmas 😂

if you can find a 15W equivalent LED pygmy SES, try that. It will be a bit brighter.
