Planning and windows

We have planning permission and part of our application included a visual representation of the finished house and details of window colour.

We now want to change the window frame colour. Would we need to submit for a minor amendment or is this not considered material to permission?

It’s grey to white so nothing controversial. I just don’t want a reported breach.

Thanks

You can apply for a non material amendment.

But you could just do it and wait and see. If someone is bothered, you can apply retrospectively. If no one bothered, then all good.

I did wonder about just doing it, surely they won’t actually care about window colour. Grey would be more controversial than white anyway, and both appear on our road. Thanks @Janleverton

They will only care if you are in a Conservation area or you are Listed. Otherwise you can paint them, or have them, any colour you want as it’s immaterial to the pp decision. It’s just a picture you submitted to give an idea of what the building would look like. You haven’t changed that or the materials to be used.

Bubbles, the PP states it is granted in relation to xxx, xxxx, xxx etc drawings. The drawings specifically state the windows are grey. The permission doesn’t though reference the picture you’re referring to. Although I agree with you they don’t care, our permission does by default of this inclusion appear to actually cover the colour.
The reason I’m concerned is a neighbour is very concerned about the build and any excuse would set her off.

If wish we’d never stated the colour then it most probably wouldn’t have mattered!

Ask the planning office - I suspect they will want a non-material amendment (and a fee!) but then you are covered.

@Rollercoaster1920 I suppose when I change my mind again, at least I’m covered!
