how is the place like? are there many council houses in the area?

White city is worse than greenstead imo although tbh, most are probably quiet most of the time. Id live in greenstead over white city as better facilities

Does it need to be 4 bedrooms?

Babsroma1978 · 07/11/2019 17:25

yes. very true i just checked on the crimes websites and the area is not very good.
we're now going to view few properties in Manningtree.... Blush

Best things in Tiptree are the tea rooms and Perrywood garden centre particularly at Christmas.

What's your budget OP (apologies if you've already said), but there is a healthy market in sales of 3 and 4 bed room houses in the Myland area of Colchester which is close to the station. There is a mix of new builds and existing and it has decent schools

Branleuse · 08/11/2019 09:30

Manningtree is lovely

Branleuse · 08/11/2019 09:32

4 bed houses are not easy to find and are not as good value as 3 bed, possibly because of the student rental market.
Id look more at 3 beds and forgo a spare room if youre on a budget. Maybe a 3 bed with a dining room that you could use for guests?

Hi Branleuse,

Thank you for the links

The property at St Andrews Avenue, Colchester, CO4 www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-81585737.html
is closer to Greenstead.

And the property we were planning to buy at Barkstead road(www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-63157224.html) is not far from the property mentioned above. and its farther away from Greenstead.

Is the Barkstead Road a really bad area?

Thanks
