Basildon? It’s cheap, at least.

Wokingham is more than an hour to Waterloo - it's more like 1hr 15.

Reading to Waterloo is about an hour and a half. The fast train from Reading is to Paddington which is much fast. Reading to Waterloo is possibly the slowest train line ever (Wokingham's on this line)

Farnborough is ace! 30 mins on fast train. Perfect for families, quiet enough

@YogaDrone Ex MIL lived just round the corner from that one about 30 years ago, a friend still lives round another corner, if it's the 4 bed that you've linked to. Nice enough area and very handy for the train. You can also walk to the leisure centre and to the Look Out. It's certainly not the rough side of Bracknell but The Warren I'd say is better than Forest Park (houses further apart from each other). First phase The Warren (nearer the station, to the West of the road through the estate) is better than phase 2 (which that house is) but both are better than Forest Park. Built mid-late 80s. Jumping 1 stop on the train to Bracknell centre is easy, trains are regular, and Ascot is the next stop the other way if you want coffee shops & small shops. There's a decent size Tesco at Martin's Heron station too.
