Renovating non-long term home

I'm so stuck on what to do. We are currently in the drawings stage of a decent sized renovation on our home, and I'm already finding it stressful. The architect is useless as communicating and I want to throw in the towel. I'm wondering whether to just give up now and live as we are, or whether this is normal and to power through and it all be worth it.

We aren't planning to live here forever but could be here anywhere between another 3-7 years. We have a baby in the house and another on the way, we are lacking a bedroom and the downstairs space is not really workable, but surely a big renovation with either one baby and pregnant, or two babies, is going to be more stressful than living in a home that is too small.

I just don't know what to do!

Serious building work tends to be very noisy and cause lots of dust everywhere. I wouldn't consider it if you're going to be a home with a baby and a toddler.

Would you be able to move out for a bit?

We could move out but only to the in laws, I'm not sure how I feel about that Grin renting is not possible unfortunately
