So my boiler has been given the terminal diagnosis (not surprising - its 17/18 years old) and am currently deciding what to do.
The house is not my lifetime home, but I'm not in a position to move for at least the next year if not more (just gone self employed) (and the uncertainty/Brexit palava adds to this).
I have the option of 5 year or 10 year guarantee; the additional cost is £400 (including installation costs). Friends think I should pay for the ten year/ my parents think 5 year. I'm quite tight moneywise at the moment whereas before, it wouldn't have been such a deciding factor.
If it helps, my house is probably worth £220-240K and is in pretty good nick (so buyers wont be expecting to do much more than paint). Does the ten year guarantee make a significant difference when buying?
